→ Cleopatra, hidden Cupidon, sylvan scene, Philomela... altogether resembled failed romance, where love has been distorted into violence and disgusting affairs. They are all tragedies of women, mostly of upper class, each died a horrid death not for love, but because of love.
→ Love in this chapter, or even the whole book, is a destructive force that caused massive disintegrity rather than a constructive force that helps pull everything into place and connect people together. But on a deeper level, was all of that really love? Or just plain lust and manipulation of people to people?
